Message from the President
When you chose Chesapeake, you chose a college committed to your success. Our faculty, staff and administration work together as a community to create an environment in which learning flourishes.
You will learn in classrooms, labs, and online. Our faculty have ensured that your courses prepare you to transfer or to get a job in your chosen field. If you are not yet decided on a curriculum, we can help you find the academic or career path that meets your goals and takes advantage of your strengths.
You will learn in the library, where print and electronic media can transport you around the world, back in time or into the future.
You will learn from each other, especially from those with different life experiences and opinions.
You will learn the value of team work on the athletic fields, and be transformed by the power of a live performance in the theater.
Whether you have come to Chesapeake directly from high school or after years of working and raising a family, you will find opportunities to learn and grow here and, I’m sure, create some of your own. We welcome you as a part of our community.

Two-year program of study in liberal arts and sciences and career programs.
Degrees and awards granted:
Associate of Arts, Associate of Arts in Teaching, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, Certificate and Letter of Recognition.
In academic year 2012, we enrolled 3,923 credit students and 9,287 non-credit students in 2012.
Number of faculty and staff:
In fall of 2012 there were 55 full-time faculty; 66 part-time credit faculty; 181 full-time administrators, other professionals and support staff.
Average class size:
With over 50,000 books, in addition to films, recordings, and images, and an extensive collection of online periodicals, e-books, and subject specific databases, the library also contains technology equipped classrooms, group and individual study spaces, open computer areas, a special collection of Eastern Shore-related materials, and resources on philanthropic giving for grant seekers.
The College provides access to a wide-range of software packages, and applications, including high-speed Internet access across our three locations. All students receive e-mail accounts through the College’s portal. The College provides over 700 computers for educational use by students and faculty. The Learning Resource Center has computers available for public use.
Student financial aid:
Over $5.6 million in various forms of student aid was awarded to eligible students, both full- and part-time during the 2011-2012 academic year. An extensive scholarship program is available.
