Award: Associate of Arts Degree
Program Mission: The Global and International Studies program prepares students for transfer to four year institutions with internationally focused majors.
Program Goals: The Global and International Studies program will:

  • Ensure proficiency content knowledge and skills for each of the general education competencies.
  • Prepare students for transfer.
  • Provide students with a broad background in the interconnected disciplines that are the foundation of our global world

Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the history of human culture and the interrelationships between cultures.
  • Understand the concept of globalization from environmental, anthropological, sociological, and cultural perspectives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the history of human culture and inter-culturality.
  • Locate regions of the world and understand their environmental, anthropological, sociological, and cultural characteristics.
  • Discuss the importance of artistic expression within and between cultures.
  • Demonstrate self-awareness of the cultural values, beliefs, and communication styles of others.
