RSR 105 - Introduction to Positioning2 credits An introduction to radiographic procedures. Radiographic terminology, finite anatomy, equipment manipulation, positioning, effective communication skills, patient care considerations, radiation exposure factors, and radiation protection procedures used to accurately demonstrate patient anatomy on a radiograph will be studied. Procedures will be demonstrated. Students will practice procedures in role-playing lab situations and complete lab examinations for each procedure studied. Thirty-five hours of orientation is required prior to the start of the semester. Three hours per week will be scheduled in the clinical setting. RSR 105 is offered in the eight-week summer session. [SUMMER] Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory per week. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Radiologic Sciences Program.
