Cardiac Rescue Technician Letter of Recognition (517)A cooperative program between Shore Health System and Chesapeake College. Award: Letter of Recognition Program Mission: The Chesapeake College Cardiac Rescue Technician Letter of Recognition provides an opportunity for EMT certified individuals to acquire the Cardiac Rescue Technician skills necessary to sit for the national certification (at the EMT-Intermediate level) and take the state protocol examination for CRT. Program Description: The Cardiac Rescue Technician Letter of Recognition program is a two-semester, 11-month credit program designed to prepare EMTs to become nationally registered EMT Intermediates and Maryland licensed Cardiac Rescue Technicians. The curriculum includes didactic, laboratory and clinical training, and covers advanced patient assessment, pharmacology, airway management, trauma, respiratory, and cardiac emergencies. A grade of “C” or better in the CRT courses is required to progress in the program. Students should consult with the College’s Admissions Office or the Nursing and Allied Health Advisor in planning an appropriate program. Admissions Requirements:
Admissions Procedures: Candidates will be selected based on a point system with residents of Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot counties being given priority.
