Engineering Technology

The College offers one degree, three certificate, and two letter of recognition programs in engineering curricula.

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree recognizes curricular focus in a specific occupational area. This degree is intended primarily for immediate employment or occupational skills upgrading, but also provides opportunities for transfer to a four-year institution to complete a baccalaureate degree.

The College’s Certificate options focus on a sequence of courses in the student’s chosen curriculum. Most certificate programs are designed to build upon skills and sequence into degree curricula. Certificate programs include at least 12 credits and typically take a minimum of a year to complete.

Letters of Recognition (LOR) programs include a specific sequence of courses that total no more than 11 credits. These programs can be completed in the shortest period of time.

Engineering Technology

The AAS degree in Engineering Technology - Drafting and Design Option is designed to provide a strong general education background, as well as skills needed for employment or advancement in areas such as architecture, drafting and design, electronics, manufacturing, and the building trades.

The Certificate in Drafting and Design is designed to provide the technical knowledge, skills and related subjects needed by draft persons.

The Letter of Recognition program in Drafting and Design is designed to prepare students for employment as entry-level drafters or CAD operators in related occupations.

Welding

The Advanced Certificate in Welding is designed to prepare students for immediate employment as a certified welder, welding technician, or intermediate welder. This program will also help students to enhance existing welding skills and knowledge required for certifications and promotions in an existing career.

The Basic Certificate in Welding is designed to prepare students for immediate employment as an entry level welder. This program will also help students to enhance existing welding skills and knowledge required for certification.

Letter of Recognition program in Welding is designed to prepare students for employment as beginning welders. The program may also be used by current welders to update the skills and knowledge required for certification.
