WEL 140 - Decorative Metalwork This class will instruct individuals in the process and techniques of metal fabrication as it relates to decorative, functional and artistic design. Topics covered include: safety procedures, thermal cutting processes using MIG, GMAW welding processes, characteristics of metals and fabrication techniques. Students will learn through project based activities focused on building basic understanding of visual language and the relevance of craft across two and three dimensional formats. Students also will learn design strategies for functional objects.3 credits. [SPRING] Two hours lecture, two hours lab per week.
