HIS 115 - African-American History3 credits A survey of African-American history from Colonial America and United States history to the present. This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the role of African- Americans in the development of Colonial America and the United States. Political, economic, social, and cultural contributions of African-Americans that helped shape the pattern of life in the United States will be emphasized. [SPRING] Three hours lecture per week. Prerequisite(s): Complete ENG 094+ as a prerequisite, or appropriate placement score. Prereq/Corequisite: Take MAT 023 as a pre or corequisite, or appropriate placement score. Note: All developmental courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better in order to progress to the next developmental level or into college-level courses.
