Accelerated Pathway for Special Populations to Complete the Associate of Science in Nursing Degree

This is an established advanced academic pathway specifically tailored for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN’s), Paramedics, and Military Corpsman/Medics to complete the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing at Chesapeake College.

Chesapeake College has partnered with American Public University System (APUS) to create an accelerated program combining credential assessment, credit transfer, and online education to enable qualified LPN’s, paramedics, navy corpsman, army medics and air force medical technicians to an accelerated admission to the Chesapeake College/MGW’s nursing program. Upon completion of six (6) credits of nursing theory that will be taken online through APUS and two (2) credits of Direct Clinical Practice (DCP) through Chesapeake College, the student will be eligible to enter the second year of the associate of science degree in nursing at Chesapeake College.

The six credit nursing theory course taken through APUS is individualized to meet the unique needs of each group of learners and is delivered in an online format.
