MUS 201 - World Music

A study of world music that explores the roots of cultural diversity from dispersed geographical locales and the impact of globalization and migrating traditions on new audiences. Through guided listening and other activities, students will explore the creation, transmission, and understanding of world music as well as how it impacts their own perceptions of music. [Fall/Spring] Three hours lecture per week.
