Environmental Science

The Associate of Science degree program in Environmental Science is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year higher education institution to continue their studies toward a baccalaureate degree in one of the myriad pathways in environmental careers, such as policy, management, science, or engineering.

The Environmental Science program provides students with the basic knowledge and skills for entry-level understanding of the multi-disciplinary nature of environmental challenges and viable solutions. Students should become familiar with the requirements of the intended transfer institution and consult with a faculty advisor in making specific course selections.

The Environmental Monitoring Certificate is designed to provide students with an opportunity to become trained for immediate employment in an environmental science career field that promotes the management, conservation and protection of natural environment and resources. This program of study is designed for students with prior preparation in math and science.

The Letter of Recognition program in Land Use Management is designed to offer a series of courses which serve as the foundation for students interested in preparing for entry-level employment in land management fields.

For additional education opportunities related to this field, see the the Letter of Recognition programs in Liberal Arts & Sciences . These programs may serve as a foundation for students toward a stackable progression in educational achievement applicable to environmental science.
