Human Services

The College offers one degree program with a choice of two options for concentration in human services.

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree recognizes curricular focus in a specific occupational area. This degree is intended primarily for immediate employment or occupational skills upgrading, but also provides opportunities for transfer to a  four-year institution to complete a baccalaureate degree.

Human Services

Mental Health and Substance Abuse/Addiction

The AAS in Human Services, Mental Health and Substance Abuse/Addiction Options are designed to provide comprehensive training for paraprofessionals already employed in the human services field. The program will provide sufficient educational training for individuals who seek employment or who are upgrading their skills in the area of mental health or substance abuse/addiction.

Students who successfully complete the AAS in Human Services or the AA in Liberal Arts and Sciences at Chesapeake College may be eligible to continue taking courses to complete their bachelor’s degree at the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center, located on the College’s Wye Mills campus. Salisbury University offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at the Center. For more information, contact the Executive Director for the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center at: 410-827-5761.
