Use of the Internet

The Internet is an essential medium for communication and research in higher education and in business. Employees are increasingly expected to possess basic computer literacy skills. At Chesapeake, most courses require some use of the Internet, and students are often required to use computers to write and submit papers and other class assignments.

Chesapeake students may use one of the many open access computers in the Learning Resource Center (LRC) on the Wye Mills campus, or in the Multi-Service center (MSC) in Cambridge. Access to computer equipment and Internet access from home is strongly recommended. Students who lack computer or Internet skills and concepts may acquire those skills by enrolling in CIS-109 and/or CIS-115.
