PHY 205+ - College Physics I | Meets a General Education requirement. Algebra-based study of the laws of physics. This course provides the first of two semesters of college physics. Topics include vectors, motion, force, equilibrium, momentum and energy, properties of matter, mechanical waves and sound, and an introduction to kinetic theory and thermodynamics.4 credits [ALTERNATE YEARS - FALL - ODD] Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory per week. Prerequisite(s): Complete ENG 094 as a prerequisite, or appropriate placement score; MAT 115+ . Note: All developmental courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better in order to progress to the next developmental level or into college-level courses.
