ACH 230 - History of Architecture3 credits A course covering the history of architecture through lecture and slide presentations. Students will study the origins and elements of architectural style. Architectural chronology will be studied from antiquity to the 19th century. The importance of shelter, community identity, religion, government, terrain, climate, fashion, aesthetics and industry as issues in the development and evolution of architectural practices will be followed. [FALL] Three lecture hours per week.
