MUS 105 - African-American Music3 credits An overview of the history of African-American music from 1619, with a major emphasis from 1819 to the present. A review of gospel, jazz, blues, and popular music will be included. [AS NEEDED] Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): Complete ENG 094+ as a prerequisite, or appropriate placement score. Note: All developmental courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better in order to progress to the next developmental level or into college-level courses.
